The trailer weight of the Ford Mustang Mach-E Long Range RWD and Ford Mustang Mach-E Long Range AWD models was upped to 1,000 kg as recently as May of this year. It has now been raised to 1,500 kilograms for the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E model, which will go into production on October 31 this year.
"We are constantly working to improve the Mustang Mach-E' attributes so that it remains one of the most competitive and best electric SUVs on the market. We have further developed the car in two critical areas that we know many customers have requested with the increase that is now coming to these two options, not to mention the potential of roof loading, which has already been approved."
The Ford Mustang Mach-E Long Range RWD and Long Range AWD will also feature greater ball pressure when towing a trailer starting in 2023, up to 60 kg. When attachments like bicycle racks are used, the maximum weight remains constant at 75 kg. These modifications do not apply to the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT or Standard Range models. Due to changes in the attachment bracket for the towbar and the attachment, automobiles from model years 2021 or 2022 will not be re-approved for 1500 kg trailer weight.
All Ford Mustang Mach-Es were authorized for roof loads in July of this year. The adjustment applies to 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E and Mustang Mach-E GT models, but the allowed roof weight varies depending on whether the car has a panoramic roof:
- Ford Mustang Mach-E without a panoramic roof: Max. 75 kg roof load
- Ford Mustang Mach-E with panoramic roof: Max. 65 kg roof load
Ford is also making many other changes to the Ford Mustang Mach-E in preparation for the all-electric SUV's debut in the 2023 model year. The intelligent adaptive cruise control will deliver an even better driving experience by, among other things, adjusting the car's speed based on map data. This implies that while approaching a severe turn, for example, the speed is reduced. The power of the charging plate for wireless charging in the automobile will also be enhanced, from 5W to 15W.
All Ford Mustang Mach-Es now comes with five years of complimentary servicing. This applies to all customers who signed a contract for the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV on or after April 12, this year.
"With the many improvements that have been made and are still being made, both to the car itself and to the free service we presently offer for five years, we demonstrate that we connect to our customers and are always working to give them an even better customer experience. We will definitely keep doing that in the future."
