Skoda debuted a new body type for its Enyaq iV fully-electric SUV, called the Enyaq Coupe iV. The new model, which features a coupe-style roof, also adds power to the roster by incorporating the automaker's sporty RS brand into its electric crossover lineup.
The new Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV, available in three trim levels, increases aerodynamic efficiency due to its sloped roof. As a result, it provides an improved drag coefficient of 0.234 for the EV over the conventional model. Moreover, when combined with the vehicle's lighter weight, it increases range.
The 82kWh battery in the Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV 80 RWD enables the electric car to go up to 339 miles (545 kilometers) on the WLTP, up from 330 miles (531 kilometers) in the Enyaq iV 80. In addition, its single-engine generates 201 hp/150 kW.
The Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV 80x and the Enyaq Coupe iV RS are equipped with an auxiliary electric motor that powers all four wheels. These motors provide 261 hp/195 kW in the Enyaq Coupe iV 80x.
The Enyaq Coupe iV RS is Skoda's first high-performance electric vehicle.
Meanwhile, the most powerful Enyaq Coupe iV RS trim has up to 299 hp/220 kW and 460 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in only 6.5 seconds and continue to a peak speed of 111 mph (179 km/h).
Both the powerful RS variant and the sporty-looking Enyaq Coupe iV SportLine trim benefit from a sports chassis that has been designed for performance. They are 15 mm (0.5 inches) lower in front and 10 mm (0.4 inches) more down in the rear, improving their performance in the tests.
Both come standard with 20-inch wheels but may be upgraded to 21-inch wheels, and both include aerodynamically designed plastic trim on the outside. Additionally, they receive gloss black trim around the grille, window, and rear diffusor. Finally, as with all other RS models, the Enyaq Coupe iV RS's rear bumper features a full-length red reflector.
Meanwhile, all Enyaq Coupe iV variants include a panoramic glass roof that spans the full top of the car and smoothly integrates with the back windshield. The panoramic glass roof is thinner than the standard roof and provides passengers with additional headroom.
The inside of the Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV electric car is made entirely of recycled materials, while the SportLine variant features a sporty black interior. Meanwhile, the vRS variant features sport-style seats with perforated black leather and contrast piping. The dashboard is similarly coated in a leather-look material to match the seats, and the interior is accented with carbon fiber-effect trim.
Inside, each model features a 5.3-inch instrument display and a 13-inch center touchscreen, and with the help of the glass roof, there is still plenty of space. The Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV has a trunk capacity of 570 liters (20.1 cubic feet), up from 585 liters in the regular body type (20.6 cubic feet).
"Following the electric SUV's great debut, the new Enyaq Coupe iV injects even more emotion, sports style, and elegance into the SKODA iV family," stated Skoda CEO Thomas Shafer. "Once again, our designers and engineers have combined a high degree of practicality with an expressive design."
