Genesis will increase its presence in Europe with three new electric cars

GV60 electric car

Following its success in Asia and the United States, Hyundai is expanding its Genesis premium brand to Europe. An earlier attempt a few years ago had failed. As a result, sales of South Korean vehicles will begin this summer in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Switzerland. In addition to typical combustion engines, there are a variety of totally electric cars on the market.

In addition to high-quality, luxurious, and powerful cars, Genesis guarantees "great" customer service to its European clients, including total help and personal connection. Genesis sells its items both online and at "Genesis Studios" in desirable city locations, the latter of which was the first to open in London, Munich, and Zurich. Direct delivery to the customer's home or company is likewise emphasized; Genesis can even pick up and personally deliver the vehicle if necessary.

The nearly five-meter-long G80 sedan and its SUV companion, the GV80, will sell in Europe in June, followed by the smaller G70 and GV70 versions soon after. Then, in 2021, an electric car series designed specifically for Europe will make its debut. The Genesis Electrified G80, the company's first production electric vehicle, was just released in Europe. In addition, two more electric cars are expected to be released in 2021, one of which will be based on a battery-powered vehicle chassis, most likely Hyundai's Electric-Global Modular Platform ( E-GMP ).

As the name suggests, Genesis' first electric vehicle is an electric version of the G80 luxury sedan, which was previously only available with a combustion engine. With its elegance, luxury, and sophisticated, powerful driving manners, the Electrified G80 should dazzle. With a 136 kW motor at the front and rear, the basic all-wheel-drive system provides 272 kW / 370 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. It takes 4.9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour. For economy, you can switch between four-wheel and two-wheel drive as needed.

The Electrified G80 has a range of over 500 kilometres, according to the NEDC standard, which is due to expire in several countries. The electric vehicle's battery pack should be able to be charged to 80 per cent in 22 minutes utilizing an 800-volt system with a peak capacity of 350 kW and appropriate public charging stations. In addition, the Genesis Electrified G80, like Hyundai's recently produced first electric car based on the E-GMP architecture, the Ioniq 5, offers bidirectional charging for electrical power products like laptops.

Just to refresh your memory: the Ioniq 5 electric car include an autonomous emergency braking system with pedestrian detection, front collision warning, lane departure warning, and cruise control with distance management as standard equipment. Blind Spot Assist and rear cross-traffic warning are also available as options on the new Ioniq plug-in hybrid, as are LED headlights. The 77 kW Ioniq plug-in hybrid combines a direct-injection gasoline engine with a 45 kW electric motor (105 hp).

Genesis has not yet revealed any information about its other electric vehicles. One of them, though, could be the production version of the X Concept, a Gran Turismo-inspired concept revealed in March. On the other hand, the Mint Concept luxury city car, unveiled in 2019 and will seat two people, has no manufacturing plans. The Genesis brand teased a hypothetical electric car in the Gran Turismo style with the X Concept. However, the first full-electric car in the Hyundai Group's luxury brand's range would be considerably more conservative, as the South Koreans recently demonstrated at the Auto Shanghai trade exhibition with the Electrified G80.

Genesis combines fully active noise reduction technology, an electronically adjustable chassis, a solar roof for greater energy efficiency, and various untreated and recycled materials inside the Electrified G80.

In the coming years, Genesis plans to significantly expand its involvement in the sector of electromobility. By 2025, the business hopes to have built at least three fully electric vehicles from the ground up. In addition to the X Concept, the Mint Concept, which was presented two years ago and is a luxury city car for two people that balances practicality, comfort, and driving pleasure, might be included.

Genesis is likely to announce its European launch in the near future. As a result, the brand's new electric vehicles will be accessible.

With its new electric cars, such as the GV60 electric car, Genesis intends to meet more rigorous emissions rules worldwide. Concept motives, on the other hand, are as crucial in the electric offensive. Customers are more concerned about environmental friendliness while acquiring a vehicle, but they are not prepared to forego driving fun, dynamics, or style. "Anyone who has driven an electrified vehicle understands how exciting they can be," says Manfred Fitzgerald, CEO of Genesis. He believes that the alternative method of transportation would take off once electric vehicles have a greater range and lower pricing. @via Genesis.
