Renault has been a European pioneer in electric cars. While others still hesitated, back in 2011/2012, Renault launched both Renault Zoe and Kangoo Express ZE's unique electric cars in each segment.
With over 300,000 Renault Zoe sold, and with Renault Kangoo ZE as the absolute leader in the LCV segment, Renault has been a leader in electric cars in Europe and has more than ten years of experience. And that is the experience now being used to launch the next electric vehicle from Renault.
This spring, the electric car was launched as a concept car called the Megane eVision connected with the Renault eWays conference and showed the first steps to Renault's entry into the C-segment for electric cars. Renault already has Twingo E-TECH electric in the A-segment, Zoe in the B-segment, and when it comes to Kangoo ZE vans and most recently also the Renault Master on pure electricity.
The new Megane E-TECH Electric has a 160 kW engine (217 hp) and a 60 kWh battery that allows up to 450 km of range.
The car will be introduced next spring at home. Right now, French engineers are testing 30 pre-production cars over the summer. The Megane E-TECH Electric cars are built at the Douai factory (France), and all are covered with an exceptional pattern created from Renault's new design with the iconic Renault logo.
The launch is expected by March 2022, but it is still too early to say anything about prices. @via Renault.
