The 2024 Toyota Tundra 1794 Limited Edition is a full-size pickup truck with a unique combination of luxury, performance, and ruggedness. It is based on the 1794 trim level, which pays tribute to the ranch where the Tundra plant is located in San Antonio, Texas. But unlike the regular 1794, the Limited Edition comes with some exclusive features that make it stand out from the crowd. Here are some highlights of this special-edition truck unveiled at the State Fair of Texas.
A Truckload of Leather
The interior is the most noticeable difference between the 1794 Limited Edition and the standard 1794. Toyota collaborated with the Saddleback Leather Company, a Texas-based manufacturer of high-quality leather goods, to create a unique and luxurious cabin for the truck. The seats, door panels, dashboard, steering wheel, and center console are all covered in ultra-premium leather that is flawless and durable. The leather is also treated with a special wax that gives it a rich and natural color.
Saddleback Leather Company was founded in 2004 by Dave Munson, who had his first leather bag made while living in Mexico as a volunteer English teacher. He wanted a bag that was so tough and strong that it would last a lifetime. He later started selling his bags online and expanded his product line to include wallets, belts, backpacks, and more. His company's motto is "They'll fight over it when you're dead," reflecting his high quality and craftsmanship standards.
The same motto applies to the leather interior of the 1794 Limited Edition, which is designed to last for generations. But that's not all. The seatback pockets are replaced by actual saddlebags that have functional flaps and buckles. These saddlebags are stylish and practical, as they can store items such as maps, tools, or snacks. The pickup truck also comes with a matching set of leather accessories from Saddleback Leather Company, including an overnight bag, a tool roll, an owner's manual case, a key glove, and a small bag. These accessories have 1794 Limited Edition embossing that matches the truck's production number.
The production number is also displayed on a special label on the dashboard that indicates that the truck is one of only 1,500 units that will be made. The 1794 Limited Edition is only available in the CrewMax cab configuration with a 5.5-foot bed and four-wheel drive. It is powered by the i-Force Max hybrid engine that delivers 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. The truck can be ordered in four exterior colors: Wind Chill Pearl, Midnight Black Metallic, Blueprint, and Smoked Mesquite.
