Ford Motor Company has always been synonymous with adventure, innovation, and excellence. It was with this spirit that Ford sponsored Aloha Wanderwell, who became the first woman to drive around the world between 1922 and 1927 in a Ford Model T. Now, in 2023, Ford is accelerating towards the electric car revolution, and the company has joined forces with adventure traveler Lexie Alford to embark on a historic journey in the new all-electric Ford Explorer SUV.
Lexie Alford, known online as Lexie Limitless, is the youngest person in the world to have visited every country in the world. She is now ready to explore the world's wonders again in the zero-emission Ford Explorer. This ambitious round-the-world journey will take her to different parts of the globe to overcome challenges, meet people from various cultures, and visit beautiful places.
The new all-electric Ford Explorer is equipped with advanced technology and smart insights to help drivers and passengers stay connected and enjoy their adventures. It boasts a large movable touch screen that hides a storage compartment behind it, a spacious center console, and top-class connectivity and wireless connections to smartphones. The advanced electric transmission makes traveling easier, and the batteries can be charged from ten to eighty percent in just 25 minutes.
"Aloha Wanderwell's story is especially inspiring for female travelers, but it encourages all people to push their boundaries and explore new places," says Lexie Alford. "I'm looking forward to following in the footsteps of a legendary pioneer and simultaneously showing what travel between different countries can look like in the future. There will certainly be many obstacles and challenges, but that's part of the fun of traveling. And I'm going to document it all online!"
Just as Ford supported Wanderwell in the 1920s, the automaker is now partnering with Lexie Alford on this 21st-century journey to celebrate the modern-day explorer with a passion for sustainable travel. The new all-electric Ford Explorer SUV represents the real possibilities of electric cars, and this journey will showcase its capabilities.
"We look forward to seeing what the new all-electric Explorer and Lexie Alford can do together during this journey of exploration – inspired by Aloha Wanderwell's pioneering journey," says Martin Sander, General Manager Ford Model e, Europe. "We were part of Aloha's journey all those long years ago, and we've been helping people take ambitious adventures ever since – and we can't wait to see how our electrified future continues this rebellious spirit."
The Ford Explorer Electric SUV is not just a car; it's an adventure waiting to happen. With its sustainable and zero-emission technology, it represents the future of travel. Lexie Alford's journey is a testament to Ford's commitment to innovation, adventure, and excellence. As we follow her journey worldwide, we will witness firsthand the power of the new all-electric Ford Explorer SUV and its ability to conquer new frontiers.
